POLLUTION RESPONSE VESSEL OPERATOR COURSE
The Coast Guard recently issued a Safety Alert as a reminder to owners and operators of pollution response vessels of the need to employ knowledgeable operators with appropriate seamanship skills to navigate their vessels. It is the responsibility of owners and operators to ensure a safe working environment for employees and passengers irrespective of the absence of applicable federal regulations regarding inspections and credentialed mariners.

The River School has developed a 16-hr. Pollution Response Vessel Operator course to provide owners and operators of such craft with a means to train and certify their employees. The course will include both classroom and on-the-water instruction addressing small boat seamanship, rules of the road, response operations, river navigation, and team coordination.

This course is intended to be taught on site, using the owner/operator’s equipment and in a typical river environment. Our highly qualified instructor is a retired Coast Guard Chief Petty Officer who is certified by the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators for small boat training courses.
